Users and cylinder builders are looking for alternatives for hard-chrome. Hard-chrome, however, is efficient and cost effective. On the other hand, there is a progressive ban on European level as it produces a cancerous secondary stream.
LCV introduces HydraClad coatings which combine hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. This makes the LCV Hydraclad coatings competitive with high end-coatings such as ceramic or nickel chrome.
For example, the CorroSlide-270 coating is based on an Inconel carbide with a coating thickness of 270μ which is certified to corrosion according to the NBD10300 (2010) standard.
